FriPuck firmware: A new firmware for the E-puck 2 robot
Supervisors: Julien Nembrini
Student: Léonard Clément
Project status: Ongoing
Year: 2026
The goal of this project is to develop a modern firmware for the E-puck 2 robot; first to solve existing problems, such as the stability of the wifi connection; and second to allow the use of sensors requiring a stream of data such as the IMU or the microphones. Introducing also a LUA interpreter, it will be possible to send a LUA script to the robot to bypass the delays introduced by remote communication and achieve highly reactive control for low-level time-critical tasks and keep communication bandwidth for high-level control.
